Elati is not a morning cat, she is often grumpy and gloomy through out the day. While she used to bite when she first came to the Aenohe homestead; after several incidents with humans and animals being bitten, Elati was disciplined enough she no longer bites. She'll growl and grumble if you bother her but that's as far as she'll go. Beka is still working on the fact she will snap at other cats while on the track, but for now she has a simple muzzle to keep the shedu from breaking skin while racing. Training progressed better once Beka found that Elati loves cat chow and will cooperate quite well if it is an incentive.

The family renovated several first floor rooms in the residential side of the homestead to make a room for Elati. The room is large enough for the large shedu to move easily around and there is a connecting door to Beka's new room so the girl can keep an eye on her shedu. With the mountains so close to the homestead, Elati has more than enough room to roam and she has already been trained to return to the homestead at the sound of the brass bell that the family has.
